Mission statement
A social platform for TU Delft PhD candidates to share their research topics and interests, find peers, stay informed about events and news, discuss, connect and communicate.

About

This online platform has been offered for TU Delft PhD students with several objectives in mind.

Identity and reputation in an international context.

Both the university as a whole and each individual researcher propagate a certain standard to the outside world. Fortunately, this standard is high, and in some cases, the highest worldwide. Connecting all PhD students on this social research network allows for a clear overview of the university and her research, and carries the identity and reputation of the university as a whole, as well as for each individual researcher.

Transparency and visibility.

Not just in an international context, but also locally, an increased transparency of research and social topics can bring great advantages. Researchers are better able to form groups, to find the right persons, and to discuss problems, whether they are social or research related. Transparency also allows for better targeting of events, news, and information, by departments, potential employees, and PhD students between each other.

Social gateway.

Many PhD students encounter problems in their research, which are sometimes related to the research they do, and sometimes to something in their personal life, such as finding a house, how to cook really nice Indian food, etc. This platform can be used by any member to discuss and share his ideas, thoughts and problems.

Sustainable relations.

This network will be an instrument for both the university and PhD’s to keep in touch with the community and each other. The following organizations are involved in the realization and development of the PhD online community. TU Delft Library has initiated the project. PEERS is a software company based in The Hague, with roots at the TU Delft, who specializes in professional social networks, both in the development of software as well as the organizational implementation.
